BitTorrent is a fast and free torrent client for uploading and downloading files via the peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P) BitTorrent protocol. BitTorrent was the first client written for the protocol. The programmer Bram Cohen designed the protocol in April 2001 and released a first implementation of the BitTorrent client on July 2001, and it's now maintained by Cohen's company BitTorrent, Inc.
BitTorrent comes in three editions: Free, Ad-Free and Pro (Compare). The Pro edition adds additional features such as: streaming torrents instantly, built in HD media player, Integrated antivirus, codecs to enjoy HD videos, convert downloads to play on any device, and Premium customer support.
