HitmanPro is a portable anti-malware tool developed by SurfRight (which acquired on 2015 by Sophos). It’s designed to be a second opinion scanner alongside your security programs, to find and eliminate zero-day, next-gen malware that has avoided detection using a behavioral deep scanning.
Cloud-based technology is used by Hitman to diagnose threats on your computer. In order to identify malware, it uploads suspect files to its servers and uses scan engines such as Emsisoft, Dr. Web, G Data, and Ikarus.
The program has a fast and intelligent scanning algorithm which will scan the computer quickly (less than 5 minutes) and does not slow down the computer (except for the few minutes it is scanning). Hitman Pro does not need to be installed. It can be run straight from a USB flash drive, a CD/DVD, local or network attached hard drive.
HitmanPro offers you a Free Scan to check if your security measures work. If nothing is found, then you will never need a license. When a virus is found, then you will receive a free 30-day license to remove the threat.
What's the Difference Between HitmanPro and HitmanPro.Alert?
HitmanPro only offers on-demand scans while HitmanPro.Alert goes a step ahead and offers real-time protection. Additional security features are available with HitmanPro.Alert, such as encrypting online activity, Cryptoguard (eliminating ransomware), and anti-exploit protection.
